We really love to have young people join us at St Mary’s and believe that Jesus has a special place in his heart for children! The background noise of chatter and play is one of the best things about our 10:30am Sunday service. Our hope is that everyone will feel comfortable about bringing their children to this service.

The chapel at the side of the church is available at any time during the service to give your children a break from sitting in the pews. There is a speaker and monitor here so that you don’t miss out on what’s happening.

During school terms we run a Sunday School program (called “God’s Gang”) during the 10:30am service. This is open to any children of primary school age, with separate sessions for children in grades prep to 2, and children in grades 3-6. Children attend the 10:30 service until the children’s talk or activity and are then invited to go out to God’s Gang (held in the parish house). God’s Gang is lots of fun and includes stories, songs, plays, games, craft etc. Our aim is to share and learn together and have fun. After the 10:30 service, parents collect their children from the house. There is also a fully enclosed yard for the children to run around in during morning tea.

For pre-schoolers, St Mary’s runs a weekly playgroup. This is on every Tuesday morning of the school term (10:00-11:30) in the hall. It is a great time for parents to chat, for kids to play with each other and for both to get involved in various activities. New families are always welcome to join us.

For our teenagers, St Mary’s runs a weekly youth group called ‘Youth United’, combined with the Sunbury Uniting church (our neighbours across the Village Green). This meets on Sunday evenings, usually between 5-8pm.
